BCE reports 3.6% service revenue growth in Q3; total net activations up 10.2%

Bell Canada Enterprises (BCE) reported a 0.8% year-on-year increase in total revenues to CAD5.836 billion (USD4.696 billion) in Q3 2021, with 3.6% consolidated service revenue growth driving 4.2% higher adjusted EBITDA at CAD2.558 billion, as quarterly net income grew 9.9% y-o-y to CAD813 million. Highlights in the three months ending 30 September 2021 included a 14.3% y-o-y improvement in mobile phone net subscription activations to 136,000 with a record-best Q3 post-paid mobile churn rate of 0.93%, as quarterly mobile service revenue and mobile EBITDA recovered to pre-COVID (2019) levels, growing 5.0% and 5.6% respectively in 3Q21. 66,000 retail fixed internet net subscription activations represented Bell's best quarterly performance in 15 years, posting 9% residential fixed internet revenue growth. Bell recorded nearly 267,000 total net mobile phone, mobile connected device, retail fixed internet and IPTV activations in July-September, showing a 10.2% y-o-y improvement.
